Pulling water toys from the lifting ring

Pulling from the ring....I pulled 5 tubes at one timefrom my old 84 ski..
about every month and I checked the ring every time..It stayed tight
never any movement from the ring...When you pull another boat in that is in need,,What do you tow with, The Ring or the Ski Pylon.
The ski Pylon is about 3 to 4 feet tall, and the Leveage is greater for it to Bend or Break...The Ring is shorter too....(Which One is Best)

Rocco, you are referring to the MasterCraft Tow Ring, right ? I used to have one of those on my 90 SN....

The 216 warning sticker said no towing from the grab rail...that is correct..but it said it was okay to tow up to two people from lifting ring. Pretty clearly stated....if the dealer weren't an hour RT drive I'd shoot a picture and post it...

          Steve,

My reference was from my 05' 206 w/tower, boat is here camera is not, the transom sticker on mine says "water sports tow point" nothing about the lifting ring. The owners manual shows the sticker however print is too small too read. Appearantly they have changed that sticker since 05'.

However, the back lifting ring didn't have a backing plate like the front ring. So, I don't think I'll pull off of it. I wonder why the front has a backing plate, but not the back.
The backing plate is to keep the deck from flexing downward when people step on the deck. If no plate, the screws which keep the ring from rotating would pull out of the fiberglass when someone walked on the front deck of the boat. The rear deck is not as large and does not flex like the front.

My '93 SN has a tow spool on the back deck because the lifting rings are below the platform. the tow spool (as designed by CC) is simply bolted through the fiberglass with an aluminum backing plate...Just like the lifting rings. Go ahead a pull from the lifting ring, it can take it...the deck if very thick.
