    Window Tint

Just curious if anyone has tinted windows on their Nautique. If so how is it when the sun starts to go down? Does it really help with all the glare off the water? I was thinking of tinting the windows, but I dont know what percentage to go with. Please help me decide.

    RE: Window Tint

I have seen some very nice tint jobs and I am sure it will cut down on a % of the glare. Maybe get some samples and take them boating with you and check the view at sunset.

What really makes a difference with glare is polarized sunglasses. I wear glasses and don't like contacts. Got a nice pair of Arnett sunglasses and had them do custom prescription lenses for them. Amber with polarized. Most sunglass companies have polarized lenses. Try a pair out, most are less than 100 or right around there. Really made a world of difference for me when driving and hanging out on the water in general. Amber is also pretty good in low light and foggy.

Tint reduces total light emitted. Polarization eliminates glare.

I did mine in 2.5% and it is basically impossible to see out of at dusk/night. Being that dark it doesn't reallt cut down on glare because it causes a glare from the reflection off the dash. It looks too good to complain about though!

Yeah, that was a buddy of mine's board that was working as a salesman for the local dealer at the time. We always gave each other a hard time about which boat was better. He knew better though, since he always rode on my boat.

Looks nice, but maybe a bit too dark, Theres a picture of an early 90's maybe late 80's SN w/ a blue stripe and a tinted windshield & i think it looks great, looks like its maybe only like 35%, seems like all you would really need, 2.5% seems kinda like overkill to me & is a bit more style over function. IMHO

IMO window tint is all about looks on a boat. It doesn't really serve any purpose for cutting down glare, in fact it tends to make kore glare in some cases. I definately wouldn't recommend anyone going as dark as I did because it does cause problems from time to time. I manage to deal with it though. I wouldn't go any darker than 35% for the average person.

it looks ok. but not worth the safety of kids riding in the bow and other obsticles you wont be able to see. my buddy had his tinted{very dark} and i refused to drive. it totally sucked to drive.

What percentage is your tint? Does it make it difficult to see objects in the water and does it create a glare? Whatever that is it does not look to bad or to dark.

It's 20% 3M tint...not too dark at all...it's perfect! Great for reducing glare...on the brightest of days I don't even need glasses..

What kind of tint is everybody using? I tried last year to tint my windows using the most expensive "Wal-Mart" tint that they had, and could not get it to lay down around the curves. I figured I needed a different kind of tint. So what is working out best for everyone?
