Same here, that plus a razorblade.

Do most of you look through the windshield when piloting? I can't stand doing so (with or without tint), because I think visibility is compromised either way (more so obviously with tint). I always throw a few cushions on the seat and sit high enough to see over the top.

It depends what I'm doing. If I'm towing a rider, it is sort of a habit of mine to sit on my left leg on the seat (if that makes sense), positioned high where I can look all around, forward and back. When I'm just cruising I definitely sit low in the seat and look through the windshield. Either way, I choose visibility over appearance. Some boats look really good with a well done tint job. But my personal preference is to go clear.

If you aren't looking through the windshield what is the point? To hold your t-shirt on the dash?

i sit in the seat or use the bolster. and if you think it cuts visibility is compromised sitting in the seat get in a mastercraft. the top of the window frame blocks your field of vision for people under 6'3'. i think tint on these boats is strictly for looks. i think 35%(what's legal on cars on most states) would be plenty if not too much. i mean you wear shades in the boat 90% of the time and you wouldnt tint your front windshield of your truck would you? maybe a strip, but the whole thing is just ghetto.

Strictly for looks. Agreed. My boat came tinted. I like the look. I never thought to tint my prior boat.

I actually love 50% on the front windshield! It's not done for looks either. And not to dark to be ghetto

went with 35% on mine today

just my opinion but the tint just doesnt do it for me, i love it on my truck, i have 5% all around and 50% on the windshield, but on the boat it isnt like you are making the inside darker or cooler.

                    RE: tint

Funny, when I bought my boat it had the windshield tinted and I tore it off the first day out. I felt like it definitely impaired my vision and I couldn't see everything as well as I should. I did leave the tint on the windshield side windows though - those I like tinted!

No, didn't have to take the glass out. Find someone who does tinting a lot, a business with history, and they will know how to do it.
They will lay the tint on the outside and cut it the way it needs to be and then flip it to the inside and stick it.

I'll get some pics up soon, I just had 20% done to ours.
