2005 SV-211 Team Edition Ballast Tank Controls

My 05 for the second time has had the hand control ballsat tank open and close knobs break off!! After having the dealer repair them(under warranty) thankfully. I went to fill them before riding today. The port side just broke off, with little effort(not forced). After inspection of the piece It is a cheap *** piece of plastic. Has anyone had this problem. I need an after market piece or something from 06 or 07? I live in Florida and fill the tanks every weekend and sometimes during the week. There needs to be a better system. Contacting the dealer on Monday. Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking my boat or Correct Craft I love them both. But PLEASE FIX my ballast tanks correctly. I could open and close them by the engine compartment, but I bought a $50,000 boat I would like everything to work. Ok guys later. I will add a pic soon

Interesting - I haven't had any problems with the controls on my '04 SV-211 TE - and I use them all the time...

I have had the same problem. I also had the cheapo black valves (the ones that the control knobs are wired to) in the begining, which never worked. Correct Craft has replaced the old black worthless valves to the new red-top valves, which seem to work great. They have also replaced one control knob at the helm. All work was done under warranty. Another problem I have noticed is that the little wire cables they use to connect the knobs to the control valves seem to be pretty delicate and are not sealed. They have a tendancy to get stiff real quick, so try to keep them lubed up (you can use a cable lubricator that you use on motorcyle clutch cables and connect them at the valve side of the cable).

Thanks dabig, repairs are set for April 20th. They did replace the first time with the cheap black ones. I will mention the new ones. Thanks

that probably happend at least 10 times on my boat. It was pretty routine to just unscrew the cover where the valve connects and manually pulling the cable. The new 07 are all auto so I guess they took care of that.
