    Correct Craft Foundation

Has anyone heard of this charity foundation? I didn't until I was at the factory and Gary Meloon told me about it personally. The person giving us the tour didn't even know about it...

He told me how this new foundation has donated thousands of dollars to some charities, some in the form of a boat. I dont know why they dont show off this foundation and promote/market it more... Anyone heard/read anything about it? I cant even find it on their site...

They might not publicize this foundation because it might have something to do with their spiritual convictions. CC used to occasionally give away boats to Christian camps years back. My personal boat was a boat that was apparently donated at some point. At risk of bringing up an old topic, CC puts their money where their mouth is, and you don't have to look any farther that their brochures to see what those are.

niagra, i get what you were hinting at, but the impression i got was that this was more of a charity foundation who happened to donate boats to christian organizations just b/c they happened to be close to them; i never got the impression that charity was given solely to christian organizations, nor that it had to be that way...

anyway, Gary Meloon himself seemed totally up for discussing working with them and, for example, the make-a-wish foundation to get something going for these kids.. something more than just "a boat...."

just do yourself a favor and stop replying to my posts, i find nothing you say helpful.. if you really understood the point of this whole thing and the point of me bringing it up, you will realize that this is not about money, its about giving and charity and an organzation that does this. This is a great thing and I said CC should "market" it more b/c it seems like something they should be proud of and something no competitor has--a good reason to show it off... and maybe get some enthusiatic fans involved...

I don't think Hollywood's comment was out of line.

Given the principals that guide the family, I would think they consider giving it’s own reward and not a Marketing tool.

I'm pretty sure the family has been involved with the church since (and before) they created CC. By not marketing a charity it may only be to protect the CC image so that anyone not of such a faith may not be discouraged by this fact. There is absolutely nothing wrong with CC's spiritual history but as a company it is not how they choose to portray themselves.
It's no coincidence that my boat's nick-name is "The Sinister Minster" (take a look and you'll see why) The name actually comes from that of a great Bela Fleck song with actually no words at all.
How 'bout a little reverse action...

Nothing is wrong with anything you say, 66 & squam, it really is a good company and they have a history to be proud of. That being said, I could see in the eyes of everyone listening, even another high-up employee at CC, a sudden shock as if to say, "How come I didn't know about this," or, "Why dont we make this more well-known; maybe not as popular as the term "nautique" but enough so that we could raise more money."

I was just surprised myself b/c us fans, PN.com, CCF.com, etc.., are huge untapped "resources" for getting things going, and this would be a great cause for a great day on the lake... god knows how much money we could raise if we had one PN event or something...

If there really is a "unique" connection with the foundation and the church, then there really is nothing any of us can do. If, however, the foundation is willing to open its ears to other charity-oriented ideas, like Gary Meloon was doing, then there is a world of opprotunities that I think at least one of us should realize...

abu, how do you the "sudden shock look" on the face of "high-up employee at CC" was just plain o' STUPID?
