zero off speed control

who's read up on that zero off speed control that Andy Mapple has helped develope? because of Andy's history with CC, is it safe to assume that future boats will be factory equipped with this product?

I emailed AWSA last week asking about whether it had been certified yet. I got an email back the day before yesterday responding that it was not yet tournament certified as they were still waiting to iron out a few details (waiting on some paperwork of one sort or another). They seemed confident that it would be certified "up to tournament level" whatever that means. I'm also hearing that Perfect Pass has something in the works along these lines or similar.

I heard they ran the new Zero Off system this past weekend at the tournament at Trophy Lakes. From what I hear it worked out well, but I’m still not 100% sold yet. Not trying to knock the product, but I just haven’t seen any conclusive evidence that it is as good as or possibly better than PP. If any one has any additional info I’d love to hear about it.

Does anyone know if Zero Off is WAAS compatable?? If it is not the speed will not update fast enough to be as accurate as it would need to be for tournament use.

I don't know how it could work without WAAS. The documentation on their site does not specifically state that it uses WAAS. But, they claim that it provides accurate all-buoy timing. There is no way it could do that without using WAAS.

The results are pretty amazing. However, I'm not sure how the pull feels when compared to the PerfectPass pull that everyone has grown accustomed to over the past 8-10 years.

I have heard from several pro wakeboarders that are currently using the GPS-based speed control that the pull is great. They really like it as compared to PP.

Consistent with Jeff's statement, I was at the Boarding School a couple of weeks ago and Shaun Murray was getting ready to have it installed on his 236. He said that he had used it before and it was great.

I just ran across this on Wakeworld where Travis Moye just got it installed on his X-Star. From a professional driver that doesn't even use perfect pass, his praise is pretty high...

Will these work without throttle by wire? Does Zero off plan to build kits for the throttle cable boats?

Zero Off is currently only available for drive by wire boats.

I like the idea,it needs a servo motor as well as Perfect Pass and same linkage?
