    crossover 211

Hello, I stopped at our local dealer, looked at the 2007 crossover 211. It seems like a great boat for us, we're all not good at skiing or wakeboarding, I used to be but haven't ski'd in years, and our kids are 8 and 12 and will be getting better for the next 10 years. We want a boat to grow into and be a good day cruiser too. The layout of the crossover without the mid engine hump seems nice and open, with nice sunpad and roomy open bow. Seems you can get a bimini top as well for some shade when cruising or sand bar napping, but with the waketower I guess I'll have to see one to understand how it fits over the tower. My thoughts are how much better is the 375hp engine versus the 330hp? Wonder if the bigger engine is a lot faster or with reproping the smaller motor it should be more than a non competitive family needs.. But on some of these tennessee lakes that go for miles it might be nice to hammer down the 375hp and just fly!
Also, some of the older (2001-2002) 21 foot-ish boats have a "shower" what is that? Just a hose from the engine that heats water to rinse yourself off with? Part of me is also looking for a skiable boat with a sink/portajohn/pop up changing room, for better lengthening the stay on the water, but haven't yet found a boat to capture all these areas. Do any of the larger older versions have sinks, etc? I can't figure out how to find older brochures either, thanks!

    RE: crossover 211

    Welcome to the forum.

The 211 would be a great boat to fit you needs. To answer a few of your questions. There are two types of bimini top styles to work with towers. Over the tower and under the tower. You can go to towerbiminis.com to see some pictures.

Both Nautiques I have owned have had the 330HP motor and I think it is plenty of motor for a 21' ft boat. Unless you are really going to sac the boat out then the 330 will suit your needs. And even if you do a reprop can help you there. I do not know what the top speed difference is between the two but the 330 will do 45 MPH easy on calm water. Now with the larger boats like the 220 and 236 I'd recommend going with the ZR6.

The shower is exactly what you are thinking. A hose and a nozzle in one of the rear storage compartments. I am not familiar with any Correct Craft models that have a sinks, popups, etc.

Although I do not recall CC having produced any boats recently with a cuddy, head or sink you can find many past year brochures on www.correctcraftfan.com. CC discontinued offering the showers in 06' perhaps because of carbon monoxide concerns since the motor really needs to be running for the shower to work because the water supply is captured from the motor, also the 375hp ZR6 is closed cooling so I do not believe the shower will work with that motor. Your dealer may be able to add the shower for you or they can be purchased through DIM. I have one and do use it fairly often.

      Good luck with your search!

        RE: crossover 211

        Wakeup,
I have an '05 211 and absolutely love it. It fits my growing family wonderfully. When my kids reached their teens we started to get cramped in a 19' boat and of course my children wanted some big wakes.

I looked at 10 boats by 6 different manufacturers, all inboard. They were all great handling boats, but when I sat in the Nautique I fell in love. You can see and feel the quality in everything they do. After driving boats for two months I was hooked the first time on the lake. The 211 can lay down a decent slalom wake for me, and then in just a few minutes I can fill the ballast tanks and give my kids a beautiful rampy wake. And when nobody wants to get pulled, the 211 runs across the lake smoothly and comfortably. Besides the great handling and solid feel, the boat is easy to get around in and there is plenty of space to just lounge around.

As far as the engine, the 330 pulls great and runs easily at 45 mph. We usually have 5 adults and three kids ages 9-12 on the boat and it does everything I need it to do with power left over. Unless you're going to be running at high altitudes (think Denver or Lake Tahoe) I really think the ZR6 is overkill, besides the initial cost it also drinks the gas quicker.

I have two biminis, the under tower and the over tower. The boat came with the undertower mounted bimini and I got tired of ducking every time I moved around the boat. I bought an over the tower mount from TowerBimins and like it much better, it provides the same shade and I can move around with out stooping over.

One final note, if you are moving up from a sterndrive be sure to drive all of the inboards you are looking at. Even the cheapest inboard will make a good sterndrive look wimpy and you won't see the difference until you compare inboard to inboard. After seriously considering a number of other inboards, and without any of my Nautique friends guiding my way, I think the Nautique was the best boat I could buy and the 211 fit my needs to best.

        Good luck in your shopping!

I have a 211 with the 330hp motor. It's a great all around boat, SUV of boats. I also barefoot and the 330hp is not really enough motor for my needs, I push it for all it's worth and still have difficulty with my one-footers (personal skill is an issue too). If I were to do it over again I would definately consider the 375hp upgrade.

The 211 is a great all round boat. What Mike said, for barefooting you'll need (prefer) the 375hp upgrade. For all other circumstances the 330hp is enough. But it can never hurt to upgrade Yellow_Flash_Colorz: .
Correct Craft doesn't offer a shower from the factory anymore, but it still can be installed by your dealer. A shower for the closed cooled systems (like the 375hp ZR6) is a bit more expensive due to the extra heat exchanger.
230 with ZR6 running on propane

              How about the 275HP engine

I've been offered a great price on an SV-211 with the signature package and the smallest engine (275hp).

I love the boat and the 330hp is out of my budget, so I am tempted to buy, but concerned that I'll end up disappointed. I am unable to test drive the boat prior to purchase (its in another country), but have test driven the 330hp.

Activities will be: wakeboarding, slalom skiing, and general recreational cruising around Lake Garda, Italy. No serious need for speed therefore, but its always nice to have the option.

How do you think the 275HP will effect performance. Does anyone own one? are you happy with it?

              Thanks.

Hmmm 275 hp? If you don't load it up and don't want to go fast it should do fine with a 1234/5 prop.

Right, I won't go for it then. Just found a 2005 Mastercraft X2 with 350MCX for the same price, only 65 engine hours - i'll probably buy that instead. thanks for your advice.
