Went to check out the 210 without stickers this past Saturday and my dealer informed me that Correct Craft is now sold out through July, for all models.
I knew they were having an awesome year down at the factory.
skinautique, it may not be totlly becase of sales. Remeber the retirement and how Jeff W. is supposedly taking over? I'm sure thats causing a lot of trouble down there. After all, they haven't been able to offer tours... So we have to remember even though they are sold out, it may be because of the commotion thats going on down there as well. But it does seem that there are a lot of new Nautiques this year...

I don't think CC is having any problems or commotion. The recent retirement of Meddock and promotion of Gary Meloon and Jeff Warner has to do with customer service, sales, and marketing. And, the promotion of Jeff Warner, from what I can tell, has gone very smoothly. These promotions should not affect current production. The only thing that is suffering is the tours that Jeff used to do.
What I see is this: CC's new line of boats that came out in 2003 are hugely popular. It's natural to expect the demand for such popular boats to really increase in the new line's sophomore season. So much so that CC is telling a prospective dealer here in Colorado to hold his horses in signing up because they couldn't get him any new boats.
The addition of the 211 has only added to the situation.
Being sold out this early in the year speaks volumes for CC's Sales and Marketing efforts. They had a similar issue several years back when the economy was dot com crazy. I suspect things will change once they move to the new factory and are able to increase their production volumes. I hear it's still difficult to locate skilled factory labor, so they'll probably be limited more by that than anything else in the future.....
FYI Mastercraft and Malibu are in the same boat...NO PUN intended. Meaning they are sold out of production also. All the manufactures can find a lost here and there but it is slim pickin right now. Some areas of the country are doing better than others.
My dealer told me a few weeks ago that CC was sold out and some dealers did not fill enough slots when they ordered early. CC has a fixed production capacity and rate, which would cause a problem if the demand spiked this late in the year.
Mine has been in for almost a month but had to wait for the heater, shower to be installed and the tower to be powder coated. These were completed but when they dropped it on the trailer they realized DHM sent a custom trailer for 216 instead of my 210.
New trailer came in yesterday but then the dealer realized the rear pylon was not factory installed so it, the wrap around seat, and the new Air Chair rack are on the way. Yee HAAA!
Hopefully I will have it by this weekend. I'll post some pictures--it looks kind of different without any graphics.
midohionautiques, your a dealer, do you have any real numbers of sales from the past couple years to put this sold out year in perspective for us? Because for us, we get our boat and go, simple as that. But due to CC being sold out, has being been a "burden", so to speak, for you? Just curious...

Yes CC is not taking anymore "custom" orders. The production slots are all taken by dealers. This does not mean you cannot still purchase a 2004 Nautique. It does mean that you may be limited to what you can possibly change on your order if your dealer has a late production slot. Understand that materials that are necessary for production for say a 210 need to be made before the boat begins it's 7 day birth through the factory, from the gelcoat color to little helm control ballast valves. That is why they are "sold out" already. 2005 production begins in the middle of the year, July/August usually, so take into account that the true model year for CC begins and ends in July.
Yes Jeff Warner's promotion did end the tours amoung other things, but be patient, I'm sure he will find someone worthy of that postition. Jeff has been with CC for quite some time, and done just about everything for the company. I'm sure there are ripples at most, not waves or chaos with the transitions going on. Look for an even better product and product representation in 2005, or better yet August, coming to a warehouse or dealer near you!
I've heard they can produce between 2000 - 2200 boats if they run double shifts through the current factory - not sure how accurate those numbers really are.....
