    small problem

I am trying to buy a lake front lot in west virginia on a priv lake. The lake regs will only let a owner of land run a 20' 6''boat or 24' toon. I just bought a new 206 air. The book says that the length of a 206 is 20'7.5''. They (the lake gods) use the vin number on the internet to get the boats length. Does anyone know what they will find when they look this up.
    thanks Kendall

    Sorry I can't help, but I'm curious why the 206 isn't a 207...

20'7.7" has to be with the platform, you could just cut 7" off of the platform... or... just cut 1 or 2 inches off and lie to them
      How about \"Chales\"?

Per the CC brochure, the 206 is 20'7.5" long w/o the platform, 22'4" overall. I have seen some private lakes make exceptions in situations like this, others that won't budge an inch (pun intended). Good luck...

          206 length

The 206 is 20ft 7.5 inches without platform. So, you are technically over the limit. This is one of those situations where you buy the boat and beg forgiveness later. One could argue that your actions were reasonable given CC's somewhat misleading moniker for the boat--206, meaning or suggesting it is 20 feet six inches.

Sounds like it's time for a change regarding the lakes rules. Obviously, given the length of traditional ski boats--under 20 feet--the lake governing body was trying to accomodate larger but still hard core open bow boats with the 20ft 6inch requirement. I would think this rule was put in place to cover the Malibu Response LX which I believe is just over 20ft. With technical advancements, the hard core ski boats are getting bigger.

You might PM JJ who is a member on this board. I think he's dealt with private lake restrictions on boats before.
