I left my IPod plugged into the accessory outlet for about 3 weeks (did not use boat during that time). The main battery switch on the boat was turned off. Tried to use the boat today and when I put in my code (keyless ignition) I got nothing. Does the battery switch not shut down the accessory switches and would an IPOD pull enough juice in that period of time to drain the battery? -

RE: Dead Battery - Can an IPOD drain all of the juice?
It depends on how they wired the Ipod. It is entirely possible that it did drain the battery. That is why most boat owners own a battery booster pak.Nautiqueless in San Diego

One of these:

It saved me once. I had a battery less than a year old, that just failed. And my anchor wasn't holding in some wind, so without this on board I would have been on the shore.

I was at Lake Tahoe 3 years ago. My alternator died and I didn't know it. My battery died in Emerald Bay. I went all the way back to Homewood on the pak. Needless to say it's always in the boat if it's in the water.Nautiqueless in San Diego

Sears has them on sale best $40 you will ever spend. Last week I forgot to charge the battery before I went out. Got to the lake and the boat would not start. Took all of 60 seconds grab this under the seat, hook it up and start the boat.
