Hi Everyone,
This is part of my 3 year procrastination issue of creating an auto ballast system. I am about to start yet another summer with a manual system but I am at least going to upgrade my bags and part of the pumping system.
I have a set of the Fly High Pro X Series Nautique Wedge Sacs on order, but I have a few questions if anyone has time.
Currently we have the filling part of the ballast procedure down pretty well. We use a submersible "flooded basement" style pump, plugged into an AC adapter to bring water from the lake, over the side and into the tanks. It is emptying that makes me want to yank my hair out, with a weak, 5 year old 1st generation ballast fill/empty pump. And it would appear that this Tsunami pump system works well during the draining procedure. I am mainly after that part of the puzzle.
I am wondering if anyone has these, or any of the sacs that use the Tsunami pumps. I know that the pumping portion of the process will be ok - but what I am wondering specifically is if the bags with this type of fitting work with a standard hose fill for "normal" ballast bags with threaded vinyl. Just want to make sure that we'll still be able to use our old way of filling the tanks - as nothing could be faster. We fill the boat in about 10 minutes - all three tanks - with the filling system I currently use.
Thanks,
Erik
