I would worry more about getting the boat that she wants. I could just hear it now.....years later. If you had gotten a 216, then we could have.....blah blah blah....

A friend brought a new motorcycle home one day, the wife already knew about it, so there was no problem there. Then his dad came over and was admiring the new bike, so my friend tells his dad that he should buy one too. His dad told him there was no way he was going to spend 30,000 dollars on a motorcycle. My friend explained that it only cost 15,000 dollars. His dad promptly replied "Son you obviously haven't heard of the marriage tax. If I spend $15,000 on me then I have to spend $15,000 on something for your mother. There is a 100% marriage tax added to almost everything."

Fortunately for me the marriage tax never kicked in for the boat (you must be able to wave the taxes on items used by the family). However it did apply when I bought the new bimini and cover this year. Funny how a week later a new dresser was on the way. I don't want to pay the taxes on a new ski this year, so that will have to wait until next season.

I had spotted my Super Air on boattraderonline at my friends house after a night of riding. While I was driving home from his house, he emailed HER the link instead of me. I got home, proceeded to do some chores. THen we had an issue with a horse and had to walk it in circles for an hour and some. This whole time I am trying to figure out what to say as I desperately wanted the boat and had looked for one for a very long time. I said " sooo, Honey......" She blurts out, "Just go get it, and stop trying to figure out how to ask!" Fedexed a check the next day, and I was on the road to Berryessa the following week.

I do have the greatest wife on the planet.

This is funny but my partner has been always cool about boats etc evan before a had wakeboard business.she evan asked a few weeks ago"what boat are we getting next year 236?" I wish but qld survey laws(commercial) make it a nightmare with the length and too wide for qld roads.

Now my wife knew well ahead of time that we were getting a new boat and I know for a fact that she enjoys our time on the water. Heck she does not even complain about the payments or the nw vest and ski and boards and gloves and gas and ......, but I get darn so sick and tired of her holding our SN over my head. Each and every single time she wants to get something or even better when she wants to have us invest in some new area that I am not totally sold on our boat becomes the center piece for discussion and how she did not want it at first but that she was O.K. with it since it was something that I wanted.

I cannot even imagine the conversations you will be having over the purchase of your new 211. Good luch dude! Ice the ribs.

Sounds like my wife and I. She makes more, and she even spends more on me than she spends on herself. But neither of us buy anything over $100 or so without the other knowing about it. If it is over $500 we discuss it before the purchase (for the most part but not always).

But, her job might take her to a new state, and I am willing to change jobs and follow since she has allowed me to have so many expensive hobbies to keep me busy.

My wife said, "I thought we agreed to discuss any purchases over $300." I winced and held my hand to my rib and said, "OH! I thought it was $73,300." After the assault, er..."accident", she has been pretty ok.
I am sure she will be excited when my new chick magnet, I mean our family boat gets here.

I'm 47, fat, ugly and balding. Just the thought that any amount of money could buy a magnet big enough to bring another girl to me would make her laugh.

Married again? I'm getting married in less than 3 months and ya'll are scaring me...actually my fiance is just as crazy about the boat as I am. The buying story went something like this " hey honey, I'm stopping by the Nautique dealership to check out a new wakeboard and a pick up a few things for the 2001. (Couple hours later) "Ring, Ring" Hey honey, come outside and take a look at what I just did" Her..."What the ****? It's too cold to go to the lake...but that new boat is freaking awesome " Sweet,......I almost proposed that very minute.

I was at our dealer last week taking some slalom leassons, and we started looking at the 216 and 206. She was almost ready to trade our boat in and get which ever one I wanted, but after talking about it some more we decided it needs to wait for right now.

It was funny, she wanted to get the new boat almost more than I did.

It is great having a wife that understands you.
