My insurance co. is telling me that my skis, vest, etc. need to be 'locked'. As my ski will not fit in the rear trunk, the only other place is under the observers seat. Does anyone know of a lock that be installed here? and where to get it? Anyone have this problem with their ins. co?

In my 2000 SN My oservers seat has a lock that works well My dealer M2O said that they beleive they were just out in the 2000 due to problems with breaking. Let me know if you want pictures I recenty replaced the one that was brokrn with one from a locksmiths shop The cost was around 10.00.Nautiqueless in San Diego

I think Ski Nautique could answer this better than me, back in the late 90's the observers seat had a key lock on them, the only thing I remember that I didn't like about them was the lock catch that screwed to the floor. If I remember correctly, that lock will work on any of the observers seats.

My suggestion would be to get in touch with your dealer and see if they can modify a lock onto your seat. It was a pretty simple system. My question is how does the insurance company know that your ski doesn't fit into the trunk? Tell them it fits in there and that is where you are going to keep it. The trunk locks.

The ins. co. finds out only when/if my ski is stolen from a locked trunk that wasn't broken into. However, with a 1k deductible, I wouldn't be submiting a claim for just a ski... guess it really doesn't matter.
Thanks for the input.
