Question for all about boat lifts. What have you found works the best for your SAN's. I have a '05 210 SANTE and recently bought a lake cabin and would like to buy a lift. I want one with a canopy and I know that there are lifts out there special for boats with towers, just wondering what all of you have and your opinion's on what is the best, not to mention the best bang for the buck.

RE: Boat Lifts
We use a Floe winch lift (4000 rated), 24ft canopy, full side curtains (these were a DIY job, but work perfect).
I'd Highly recommend looking into the new screw driven lifts from Floe, they're very fast and super quiet (but the price tag on them might not be so appealing).

RE: Boat Lifts
I have a Doozie lift. Very simple design, works fine, costs about $1200. We are in the process of putting a roof over it now. http://www.itsadoozie.com/06 Ski Nautique 196 SE (2010)

RE: Boat Lifts
If a friend offers me the use of his lift, how do I know it will match my hull shape and not cause damage? Are boat lifts specially set up for a certain boat hull?2010 Super Air Nautique 210 Team Edition

With the Doozie lifts, they have three basic types (ski/runabout, pontoon, and PWC) and each model has different versions based on the weight of the craft. As long as you get the inboard/runabout model you should be OK.2003 SAN (current)

We are only allowed to have floating docks on Deep Creek Lake so a pylon mounted lift will not work. I also have to move my dock out a half a dozen times as the water drops throughout the summer making it tough to manage a lift that sits on the bottom of the lake. Does anyone have experience with a floating lift the I could mount between my piers as I have a U shaped set up with 10 feet between piers?06 Air 216 TE

With Doozie lifts http://www.itsadoozie.com/, your best bet is to contact them directly with info on where you plan to install (i.e boathouse, separate pillings, steel frame, etc.), as well as the type of boat you have, and they can recommend the right lift. They are very knowledgeable and have been in business for a while. They are located at Lake Gaston, NC, and my guess is that they have about 95% of the market on the lake.
Good luck.2003 SAN (current)

I saw at least two different brands of floating boat lifts at the Mid Atlantic Boat Show held in Charlotte NC last February. I'm not sure where you are located, but it may be worth the trip (if it's not too far). Besides, you get to see and smell all the new fiberglass!! Yellow_Flash_Colorz: And Charlotte is a fun place to visit. We always make a full weekend of it.Tomfooter
