  • 1995 SUPER SPORT BALLAST INSTALL PART II

Since my last thread a few years ago I've gotten a TON of questions about my install. Here are a few updates of what I've changed:

Fly High Pro X Series V-Drive sacs for the rear (800 lbs) and a Fly High Pro X Series Fat Sac in the center (750 lbs). All sacs are now using the 1" quick connect swivel fittings. I also have six 55lb lead bars, 4 in the rear and two up front. I'm using 1"-1.5" Whale In-Line Check Valve's on the vent lines for the sacs. I bought those at www.boatersworld.com.

thanks wake_fun. I think I'm getting closer to making this happen in my 95 SS.

Why did you install check valves at the vents?

I just wanted to make sure I didn't suck any air back in as the bags empty.

where did you purchase the check valves and the ballast pumps? The pumps are reversable correct? How do you know when the ballast is empty other than looking at them?

I have an idea how I may want to do this on my 93 sport, Just looking for some insight.

The answer to the first question is in the first post. The pumps I bought as West Marine and I believe that's posted in my Ballast Pump #1 install. Check my signature links. The pumps are reversable and you know when the bags are empty because you can hear the pumps sound pitch get louder. Good luck and take your time.

I ordered it from West Marine. Each section slides together and you could add as many as you want. I ordered mine as you see it, with the three sections. If you look at my ballast install part I thread there is a better picture of it not installed yet.
