Jeff or any other 236 owners.. can you retrieve a larger board through either or both of the sun pad openings rather than lifting the entire sun deck/engine cover?

I ride large boards 142cm or 144cm wide boards. I assume/hope I am able to pull my wifes and daughters boards through the sun deck opening but was wondering if I could pull a larger board through? Also how much space is left once a board is stored. Is there plenty of room for 5-7 life jackets back there?

There is certainly room for the life jackets way in the back of the compartment, but you won't get a larger board out of the openings. You'll have to open the big hatch. I think of that as a plus because the big hatch locks but the smaller ones do not. We keep two full-size boards with bindings in each side, so there is plenty of space.
