We recently purchased our first Nautique, a 2004 SV211, Limited with 53 hours on the engine. Quite a jump from a Triton fish and ski!! We love the boat and will be Nautique drivers from now on. For the most part, the boat looks brand new. However, I have had some minor issues with the screws that secure the gas shocks to the fiber glass. The shock that lifts the main battery storage lid has broken loose twice. The dealer "quick" fixed it by moving the top of the shock down, just below the first holes and screwing them in again. Now, it haas broken loose again. Is this a common problem? Is there a proper fix that does not shut the boat down for a couple of weeks? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Gas shock screws ripping through fiberglass
I fixed it last night by moving the top of the shocks down just below the last holes. Hopefully this will hold. If it doesn't, eventually I will run out of space and this quuick fix will not work. I guess if it's good enough for Buxton marine, it is good enough for me!!
