It is not horribly bad but it isn't as good as the Ski Nautique has looked for the past several years. I assume this will be the option seen for the other 2008 models as well. The Ski Nautique was aesthetically very close to being perfect within the 2005-2006 timeframe. This is kind of a cross between the 2000-2003 gelcoat pattern and what was seen from 2004-2005. Can't say that is a step "up" necessarily.
I'm not a lover of coloured hulls. I would need to see it in silver cloud before I make judgement.
I do think the current look is great with the traditional looking stripe although I'm not too sure about the current 'Ski Nautique' graphics. The curent stickers look a bit like stuck on pieces of paper in my opinion.
Nice! First '08 Nautique I've seen so far, and i Like it... This should look good with the graphics on or off; I cant wait to see others...
Couple things though...
--Is it just me, or does the platform seem to be higher than normal?
--Did they make the bow "bend" down towards the nose, like the MC?
--What's the "black circle thing" on the front-left corner of the windshield... it looks like something you might plug a stern light into, but it cant be that...
--The black trim on the lower front side of the windshield and the throttle looks great...

I noticed the black circle thing too. I think it might be the antenna for the satellite radio (which is the BEST THING EVER on a boat).
EDIT: Or possibly for the GPS-based speed control...
I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

That's exactly what I thought right after I posted... it'd be awesome if every boat came pre-wired with a Sirius antenna there or on the top of the tower.
Our friends installed Sirius on their MC last year, and even with the iPod, its nice to have...

The bow has had the same downward curve on it since 1990, and the above pic doesnt look any different. The curve on my dad's 196 is the same as my boat (obviously without the curved edges and style lines in the middle).
If thats the new '08 graphic, I hope its optional. It doesnt look bad, but I love the classic graphic available on the '06-07 boats.
