O4' SAN tower w/ flight clips - ideas?

04' SAN tower w/ fligh clips - wondering if any one has a good idea on how to make boards fit better. The bindings on the top board in the rack hits tower and is difficult to make fit. Any ideas?

I've thought about the same thing with my 03' tower and flight clips. You have two options.
Although not as bad on the 03 towers, I know there needs about another 1/2" to 3/4" more clearance.

1.) Buy the new clamps from CC and clamp the clips to the tower instead of through bolted. This will push the clips out about 1/2" to get the clearance you need. We all know that anything from CC is WAY over priced so, not a cheap option.

2.) Unbolt the clips and make some spacers out of 1/2" aluminum which is the same shape as the clip mounting plate. Then drill the appropriate holes through the spacers, buy some longer stainless steel allen/phillips head bolts and bolt it back up to the tower. Of course you'll have to pretty them up by powder coating or polishing.

Wakejunky - thanks for the ideas. I think the aluminum spacers will work great and is not so expensive.

The '04 clips are slightly different from ealier years - they no longer through bolt. The clips attach as a "clamp" around the tower. I believe there should be enough room to introduce a spacer in the clamp....
