How to put surf boards in flight clips....

So the first thing I noticed when I got my surf board out was that it didn't fit in the flight clips, or more specifically, the bungees are too short to go over the top of the board and hold it in place....

I have a car canopy left over from my drag racing days, and it's got a pile of these 8" bungee cords with balls on the end very similar to the ball on the end of the flight clip, which is what gave me the idea. Simply attach the 8" bungee to the existing bungee and presto, a longer bungee that can hold a surf board.

I've gotten so much useful info off this site that I thought I'd share this....

The bungees on my flight clips must be more stretched out. I have no problem getting them around my landlock surfboard.
