    Replacing stock clarion speakers

Anyone replace the clarion speakers that come stock in 03 Nautiques? What would be a good upgrade speaker? I've been looking at JL xr series speakers. Any thoughts?

If you are interested I'll buy the stock one from you.

Sure, I'll probably have it done in a few weeks or so. I think I'll only replace the ones in the main part of the boat and not the ones in the bow. I'll let you know when they're out.

There are tons of speakers out there. Are you restricting yourself to "marine" speakers? Any speaker w/o water absorbing materials (paper, foam) will be fine.

I was just looking for a good coaxial speaker. JL seems to make a good speaker with a crossover. I was just wondering if anyone else has done this.

I don't have the model number, but I replaced brand new stock clarions on my prior boat with Diamond Audio speakers (not "marine-specific", but with poly cones), and the difference was dramatic. I added an amp at the same time. This was about two years ago and the cost was about $75 each.
