are you going to take a run through the slalom course with the 236?

It appears to be plug-and play. The only components are the gauge, a wiring harness, and the GPS antenna. I don't know if you can run both, but I doubt it, at least without splitting a bunch of wires, and I am not going to get into that. No slalom course for this 236, but I'll try out the waypoint functions next week. I should be able to simulate a slalom course if I understand the ZO instructions properly.

I was able to finish up the install last night after checking with Correct Craft on a couple of things. The install is pretty easy. The most difficult part is getting the dash apart so that you can get to the gauges.

I was able to keep Perfect Pass installed too, which gives me a nice feeling of security. It turns out you can run either system as long as the one you're not running is turned off. I ended up removing my speedometer, moving my tach to the center of the dash, and installing ZO on the left side.

I sure wish they would spend a little time trying to get the backlight colors to match. Heck, even the non-PP/ZO/radio remote gauges backlight colors are different.

It makes the dash look "thrown together" when the lights are on.

I was thinking that maybe I should swap the positions of PP and ZO because the PP and stereo remote backlights match, and they might look better closer together. It would be nice if everything matched though. I don' t think it looks bad though. The amount of time I spend in the boat with the lights on is minimal anyway.

I'm with you. It's a nitpick issue and certainly doesn't harm usability. And CC probably can't control 3rd party LCDs, but you know what I mean.

On our 2006 even the ballast gauges and the engine gauges (temp, fuel, etc) uses a different type of backlight. It was nice on the 2000-2002 dashboard, but CC.... Come on! Just put the right LED in it for a nice dashboard. I really like the gauges, but this drives me crazy in the evening/at night!!

A dimmer for the instrument panel would be very nice as well. Sometimes I forget my beach towel (I use one to throw over the dash when running at night). Then I have to take my shirt off to cover the dash to keep from being night blind. The stereo remote is the worst (brightest)

All of the boats with the Faria gauges have dimmers already. Not sure if they control the stereo remote though.

Up here in Minnesota it's a very long sunset. During the summer you have probably 45 minutes after the sun goes down where it's still light out, but you're required to run lights. It's not unusual for us to pull off at 10pm, which is only a few minutes after it's dark.

But yeah, most of our boating is during the daylight.

Yes, on the rare occasion I am skiing a course on a public lake, after skiing until dark (ususlly the best water of the day is the last hour before dark), the half hour back to the resort dock gets into some darkness. Also, running up the lake for dinner after skiing until dark makes for a very dark ride back. It isn't very often, but I do run at night some.

Perhaps it's good to ask CC to bring out boats without anchor and navigation lights. Most people don't use them.

Off course we run the boat at night. Wakeboarding till it's getting dark and doing some night surfing afterwards, or bbq'en and partying till dark and running back to docks..
Or the best thing, using the dashboard lights as some candles for when you all alone with your girlfriend on the boat......

Mood lighting, every boat should have color matched mood lighting. My '95 has the under gunnel lights, I just need to color match them for that extra classy look. Who am I kidding? I have been married for over 10 years so there is no need for romance, the TV glare from the late news is enough mood lighting.

I digress. A cool add on from CC would be some sort of a toggle switch that prevents both speed control systems from being powered simultaneously.
