    Best CC for wakesurfing

Thanks for stopping by and sorry for flooding several forums, but I'm still seeking some help. I'm looking for the best affordable boat for wakesurfing. My research has ruled out the 2001 but still include the Martinique (open bow), and the Excel (open bow). I know the 95 and up SS's will work, and have been looking at them, but they just keep me looking. I'm trying to find a more affordable solution. Another question, how do the Barefoot, Martinique and Excel differ in hull design other than the top cap and obvious changes with the V-drive in later years? Again, thanks for the help.

Thanks. Anyone else? How about the Martiniques? I know this is a Nautique site but surely someone knows these.

The BFN's will surf well. I havent tried maxing it out on weight to get a huge ocean wave, i have only used the sacs we use to board. I put a 400lb sack in the front closed bow and fill one v-drive sac(300lb ea) full and the other about half. Move some people a little cruise about 9.5 and you can surf all day.

Actually just for fun i tried it with only a driver and the bow sac full and i could surf that wake and i am approx 185 and ride and 4'6" LF Venture.

There is so much freeboard on a BFN there is really no way that you couldnt find a way to weight them to produce whatever type of wake you like to surf. Plus you have 330 hp assuming it has a 454, something you are going to have to pay big money for to get a 350 with that much hp.

Again, thanks. That's what I was thinking on the BFN's, but the pics I had seen were "washy", could've just been weighted improperly. It'd be nice to see a good pic of a BFN surfwake. I'm also thinking the Martinique should do the exact same thing, due to the high freeboards, and am aware of the wood composition on those. Do the v-drives have the same lower hull as the old Martiniuqes (85-89) or did that too change in 89-90?
