Few Questions - SS or SAN

I am looking at getting a SAN (or something similar - down to a 94 SSN). But I have a few questions.

    1) What is the minimal water depth you can run these hulls? On plane? Off Plane? Out of the hole?

    2) What is the max height of the tower (folded down) from the water?

The reason these questions have come up is because my buddy brought his Centurion Avalanche up to our lake house and we had to find deeper water to ride. His prop was only a few inches from the bottom when he was in front of our dock. And one of our riding spots is hidden by a little bridge that you have to go under. When we folded his tower (& added weight) we still had to rock the boat side to side under each beam of the bridge so the tower would fit under. It was quite the site.

Anyway, I never really thought of any of this until it happened (My Supra DD runs shallow). So if anybody has any input that would be great. Am I going to have the same issues, or should I look into an Air Nautique or 216?????

RE: Few Questions - SS or SAN

I think you could get away with a little over 3 ft on plane (about 28 in. draft). Pulling a boarder from deepwater start no less than about 5 ft, but shallow water alone will rob your boarding wake. Draft on a 216 wont help you too much more (24 in.) but it may not plow as deep on the initial take offs.

      Good to know...

Is there any way the I can measure a boats draft? I would like to measure the Avalanche & compare it to what you are saying. Since that is the only boat I can use that is similar....

I got the draft numbers from Correctcraftfan reference...
Wakeworld review says that the 2003 Avalanche has a 30 in draft.

Where on WW.com did you find that information?

So 30" is bigger then 28" but not by much... only a couple inches, huh???LOL

Now let me make sure I have this correct... draft is the measurement of the water line down to the bottom-most point on the boat??

Reviews.... I'll have to search that... I usually hit the general, ladies (for my GF), & nonwake sections...I really should take full advantage of that site though...

BTW, I did a little research & I found my Supra has a draft of 1'5" or 1'8"....Does that seem right?? (it's an 88 ts6m comp)

              ThankSS
