I know I have asked this before, but does anyone have any thoughts on Correct Craft bringing back the Nautique Owners Association?

Jeff do you know if Correct Craft still publishes "Nautique News"? I would love to see that return. They have a very skilled marketing department and due to their tight-lipped approach to product announcements, it seems like this would be a nice, controlled way to communicate these things out to the customer and/or fan base. Many of us on here fit into both categories clearly.
I used to love getting those Nautique News publications. I'd love to see it come back.

i know this seems trivial, but in a world where people are spending $60k, $70k and $80k plus to have their boats custom built, an explanation as to why colored top decks would not work on Correct Craft boats seems like a question that everyone wanted answered at one point or another... i mean if other manufacturers can pull it off, why cant CC?

RE: Re: questions
I'm curious if they see non ski boats in the future of CC. Something like 26' cabin cruisers, 30' luxury cruisers... I took the tour in May and I thought the guy said something about expanding the product line and getting back into the pleasure boat world. Also, if they plan to do this what will they use as far as prop configuration. Inboard, I/O, etc.?
In 20 years I'll be 51 and my boat will be paid off! Might be time to take on a pleasure cruiser payment!!!

Since I own a 2000 with the POS digital gauges ( I paid to have them switched) I would ask how a self proclaimed Christian company makes a decision after sending a product out the door that obviously does not work and instead of standing behind it and making it right, they come up with a “half a#@ discount parts no labor warranty fix”. Ok maybe a little to Mike Wallace type question, but you get the point.
Seriously after talking to some other CC owners with digital gauges we were less than impressed with the way it was handled and defiantly lost a little respect for CC’s upper management over there solution. I wonder (not that he could answer) if CC had it to do all over again would they handle it the same way. Going forward what’s the consumer gets over there competition (Bu’s & MC) when buying a CC boat. Also how CC is ensuring boats are delivered to the owner with minimal issues and what steps are taken to ensure dealers are fixing warranty issues promptly with as little impact to the customer.
Thanks Hlymons

I would also be interested to hear about bringing back the old 210 as an economy model. I was told that they had toyed with the idea, but that the Correct Craft Ski Nautique "Standard" was a failure from their perspective. Remember that boat? I do. I'd love to hear if they'd have any interest in reintroducing the Classic 210 in that way - despite former problems with that approach. I think it would be fantastic. I guess thats my new favorite question for Jeff to ask Bill.

I would like to see more nauique branded merchandise available through nautiquegear.com, or even better dirct from Correct Craft. I did see in another post that nautiquegear.com was going to be improved upon or change hands I dont recall the details. What I would like to see is readily available and fast shipping on the nautique items, like garage banners, key floats, dock lines, guide pads, decals, towels, a better shirt selection, coolers, etc. etc. etc. I would like to order what I like instead of hoping the dealer stocks it, or hunting all over ebay.

How concerned is CC about rising gas prices and dwindling (depending on who you talk to) gas supply affecting the their market in the future?

I too loved the Nautique News magazine…
I doubt they’d bring back the magazine. In this day and age, if CC wanted to bring it back in some form, I would think they would look at incorporating it into their website. Whether it is a printable version or they incorporate the features of the magazine (letters, product info, articles, etc…) through various links on their site. If they did bring back the magazine I’d imagine they would have to charge a subscription fee to cover their costs of producing and mailing it.
In regard to expanding their product line, I’d be curious to know if CC has any plans on bringing back the 176. There are a lot of lakes out there with size limitations. Granted I’m sure it would be limited production, but the 176 seems like it might have a market. I understand one of the reasons for canceling the 176 was there just wasn’t room in the old factory for it.
Like Hollywood, I’d love to know a little about the Gold Nautique… I’m sure the hulls will be different by then, but I vote for a black hull with a gold ‘GOLD NAUTIQUE’ decal on a ‘diamond white’ stripe with gold accent tape. White vinyl interior with black stripe and gold piping. Gold bezels around the gauges. Maybe a black windshield frame – gold would look too pimpy… And they should only build 50 of them. (I think they built 82 Silvers.) Just thinking out loud…
Jeff,
Since you have his ear… Ask if CC is open to new product suggestions and, if so, who would be the contact? (No, the above is not the suggestion I have…)
Thanks!
Kyle
