I'll be heading down to Correct Craft in a couple of weeks, and part of my time will be spent with Bill Yeargin. I'd like to put together a list of questions for him that will be published here, and I was hoping to get input from some of you. If you have a question for Bill Yeargin, please post it here and I'll do my best to get it answered.

Also, if you have any general comments or suggestions for CC, post those here too.

Make previous production brochures/literature readily available (I know a guy that can scan and post them) so Nautique fans stay Correct Craft fans for many years to come.

More representation and SERVICE for CC boats in Canada, and especially in Ontario.

With Ford no longer producing 351's how is CC going to train service tech's on the thousands of Nautiques from the early years to late model boats that have 351's?

the reason for my comment is because it has been like pulling teeth getting a tech to work on my 1990 351, and the local dealer is a complete waste of money and time. I have called CC on this, but the dealer sells so many boats for them I get the impression their lack of service standards is overlooked.

Thanks Jeff, I would like to get down there at some point as well. I have spoken to people at CC before and they have all been fantastic and very helpful even with my 17 year old boat.

I'd like to know what aesthetic qualities/features that Correct Craft feels are important enough to the look or lines of a CC that they will always be incorporated into their designs? An example might be a short windshield (depth-wise- front to back) or a very short bow on the 196 boats. What features would make a CC identifiable at a glance? How will CC separate themselves from the rest of the crowd in aesthetic design? With how "swoopy" some of the newer WB offerings are becoming (210, 236), I'm concerned that CC will lose their unique looks. The "classic CC looks" I'm referring to can be seen on the previous 210 model and in the current 206 and 196.

I'd also like to know if CC plans to stick with a closed-bow design for their flagship tournament ski boat in the future, and, if so, what is their rationale for doing so.

Emphasize that Correct Craft stands for traditional timeless quality. 82 years, (or will it be 83?) of producing quality.

I know it is a not profitable part of their business, but keep support for older Correct Craft models. If CC keeps making parts for older boats, or reissues parts that are NLA, it could be a positive selling point. Try finding factory patterns or parts for a mid 1980's or 1990's "M" boat.

I have said this before, but some names should be reserved for the one model of a boat that is the paragon boat in that class. A Ski Nautique is the closed bow, 19' 6" boat. I am not familiar enough with wakeboard boats to know which one is the Super Air, but only one is. Prior to 2005, the 21'2" V-drive boat was the Super Air.

"Bling" is not important to me. I realize it sells a lot of boats, but please, please keep the quality in these boats.

I second Hollywood. Correct Craft should be the one web site to go to for information on your boat, no matter what the year. Brochures etc. would be great, but it shouldn't stop there. The web site should have owners manuals, technical data, etc. for all their boats going back 30+ years. This would take some time and energy up front, but would take little to maintain year to year. Also, it would help, not hurt, their new boat sales by showing just how well they stand behind their boats no matter how long you own it. Someone that can afford to buy a $70,000 boat is still going to buy that boat even if there is a ton of info on my 1996 SuperSport and they'll know that Correct Craft stands behind their product for the long term. That's a big selling point when your spending that kind of money.

I'd also like to see what he has to say to M3fan's questions. I think it's important to know what they think is the "classic CC look/lines." Now that i'm on a small lake outnumbered by moombas, mobiuses (sp?), supras, and one MC, the newer Nautiques are quickly starting to blend in with the crowd, when they used to be distinguishable from a mile away. Where is the short windshield? the low freeboard? whats with this new swooping rubrail? wheres the rubber rubrail, or better yet, the rope rubrail? What does he think about the increasing use of Titan's products, i.e. towers and racks, when CC used to boast about their very own FCT baby? Maybe it was Terry, but was he the guy that came from the I/O business? I wouldn't be surprised at this point....

I second MD. I hope that CC stands up to dealers outside the USA service wise. I've got the feeling the dealers in Europe are lacking knowledge and are a bit arogant (?sp). If you want a new Nautique you don't have a choice to go thru them. As soon as I bought my boat the service was done. They don't reply me on emails, they hold me off at telephone calls and wouldn't return the calls. And we can wait months (sometimes a year) for warranty replacment stuff. I know other brands are doing this much better and they are catching up on CC. Fast, very fast.

I am in australia where it seems that cc dealers are not stocking the spare parts required it took six weeks for me to get a driveshaft,rudder & skeg that was half of our summer,we have also a acceleration loss problem which i have been waiting over 3 months for the dealer to get the diacom software which is costing him $1800.00 au It seems to me that this poor dealer who has just taken over the dealership at the end of our summer who hasnt yet sold a boat has to fork out money to repair warranty work.THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN .Ask Bill to help the dealers so we are not dissapointed with the total lack of sevice in Australia.

Dealers must be able to resolve warranty issues quicker.

My freind was quoted 4 to 5 weeks before they could look at his boat.

What good is warranty if it takes that long.

The problem did not need a Nautique mechanic and was fixed by a competent mechanic at a cost to the owner.

In this case, the dealer estimated a few days to look at the problem until he had found out the boat had not been bought new from this particular dealer.

Who is the dealer representing Nautique or himself!

If dealers take this position then Nautique owners should have other options for warranty work.

I have not had this problem yet but if I do I will be calling Bill.

CC prides itself in quality and innovation. Even ten years ago, these traits would be enough to rise above the crowd. These days, other manufacturers are closing the gap in these areas. Consumers have the luxury of choosing a quality boat with innovative features from several manufacturers these days, so what other unique qualities of a CC does Correct Craft feel makes them stand out from the crowd? I'd like to see this question answered from the perspective of the WB boats as well as the ski boats.
