Zero Off in a 236

Well, I finally got my Zero Off set up and tested today, and it is just great. It holds speed much better than Perfect Pass, and it is so simple to use. There are no KDW or NN settings to deal with, no CS or base RPM settings either. You just turn it on and go. It is really that simple. Even in a big, heavy boat like a weighted 236, it holds speed to within .1 MPH. It is going to be a great feature in next year's boats.

Did you have to put the zero off on the left or was that your choice? was it a big hassle to get that done? and what are these KDW and CS setting you are talking about?

That was on my '07, which is sold now. When I first installed ZO, I left PP in place just to be sure I would not run into any issues. Both worked well, but ZO was much more stable at speed. ZO wins over PP without question.

Once I had tested ZO, I removed PP and reinstalled my speedometer. Location of the gauge was my choice, and I think I actually moved it to the right side when I removed PP.

KDW and CS are settings in PP that can be adjusted to change the pull. ZO doesn't have these settings, and it doesn't need them.

I believe you would have to "plug and unplug" each at the ECM every time you wanted to make a switch.

So is it really as easy as just pulling the perfect pass out of the dash and plugging in the ZO? Also how much is the upgrade?

Not true. Just turn the one you want to use on. That's it.

Speed controls and the throttle for the DBW boats use a CANbus interface to the ECM. You have a CAN IN and a CAN OUT. The CANbus allows daisy chaining of devices so you can have both speed controls hooked up at the same time. With both hooked up and turned on the ZO will be active and the PP will provide backup timing. Or you can turn each on independantly.
