    RE: 06 tower

I have an'06 SANTE with the new tower and love it. Especially if you have the bimini that covers the tower vs. underneath. Much better than the older style which was on our previous Nautique... IMO

      RE: 06 tower

The mounting hole are different - a good glass works place could fill the holes - I have the 06 tower and like the looks versus the old - only issues are the fact that it rattles loose over time - very heavy tower to fold - almost impossible without the help of three good friends

i know it is personal preference and if you favor the old FCT over the new one, then go for it. the new FCT does offer some functional benefits over the old one, though, while still retaining some of the old school look:

        1. more head room (especially if you have tower speakers)
        2. option of an over the tower bimni (have it on my 220 and I am a HUGE fan)
        3. swivel racks
        4. with straps, you can hang your surfboard from the bottom side of the tower (nose of the board towards the rear of the boat with the fins pointed up). snug the board up so that it is flush with the tower and it will be completely out of the way. it also will act like a "mini bimini" on days that you dont want to put the full bimini up. it is a $10 solution to a problem that will keep you from spending $400 on a surfboard rack and looks very clean...

the main reason i want the old tower is becuase it is a lot lighter to collaps as i have to do every time i ride... the tower on my friends 07 is tough with 2 people and impossible with one...

Nawteak... Mine idea Yellow_Flash_Colorz: . The tower is heavy indeed, but it's not much heavier to fold then a 2000-2005 tower. And when up, the tower is much more user friendly.
