1990s Sport -- model year differences?

Looking for a Sport from the 1990s. I've heard the 1995 to 1997 models were one of the best cross-over boats with tournament level ski wakes but also with the 2003 SAN hull for great wakeboarding. Is this true?

Anyway, is 1995 to 1997 the primo years?
What happened to the hulls before and afterwards?
Any thoughts/experiences with other model years?
How about leads on a nice boat? (Please PM me)
    I'm finding some nice 1994s and 1998s, but not 1995 thru 1997.

I own a 93 and love it. The only reason to stay away from 93 is because they are carbed instead of fuel injected. Aside from that, they are the same.

i've got a 98 sport and love it.its great to ski behind...and surprisingly well for wkbrdg.withot even filling the tanks at about 20mph with 4-5 people in it ,its pretty easy to get about 6-7 ft of air.i'm not to the trick stages yet by any means ,but you can defintely clear from wake to wake easily.and i love the rear trunk for storage.

I second that. I love my 98 Sport. I also agree that the trunk is awesome. That's where I have a 550 lb sac, and there is still room for a board and life jackets. The ski locker in the floor holds 4 skis, and under the port rear-facing seat you can slide several more skis. Mine is one of the last 351s with a Holley.

Things to look for (wish I had): tower (air nautique was the same hull that year), gravity feed factory water tanks.

It will be hard to upgrade to newer, because I like the 23' long length and space. Ski wake (without ballast) is very good above 30 mph. Not quite as good as the Ski Nautiques, but very nice.
