The "best" prop depends on how much weight you run, etc. If you are just looking for a prop that works with your SS, I am selling an Acme model 380 prop that I used as a backup on my '97 Super Sport. I only used it once and it is in like new condition. I am only asking $115 shipped and you can contact me at jwaterson14@hotmail.com. Thanks a lot.
I have a SAN '02. It is the super sport like vdrive. GT 40 motor. It came with an Acme 380 which is 13.5 inch x 17.5 pitch - four blade.
Great top speed at 4800 rpm at around 46 mph. For wakeboarding I noted SAN '03 and up came with Acme 536 which is 13.5 inch x 16 pitch.
I got the Acme 644 which is 13.25 inch diameter x 16 degree pitch. It is GREAT!! I picked up RPM but lost some top end. I run around 5200 RPM and 43 MPH. But, the higher RPM out of the hole gets the boat on plane very quickly. Very flat bow at wakeboard speeds around 22 - 23 mph. Smooth Smooth running and much quicker acceleration. More rpm throughout the power range but handling is improved. Better cornering, which was outstanding with the old prop. It's not as fuel efficient but it makes the boat dance in the water, and for cruising around 30 - 35 mph, the rpms are below 4500, so it's not sucking gas.
