    You?

    Hey,

I am a middle aged guy trying to get back into skiing. First baby on the way in two weeks, though. After a 15 year hiatus (I skied 7 days a week when I was in college) I picked up an 03 SN 206 this spring. I live in Sachse (about 5 min from Lavon). I was hoping to go free skiing a bunch to get in shape, and then get a membership at Alan Hendricks lake between Princeton and Greenville an get back on the course, but it is hard to find guys who can drive and want to head out. Let me know if you want to ski sometime. I am always looking for drivers. I can pull wakeboarders, but don't currently have a tower on my boat. (I don't know how old you are, but I don't mind skiing with older and younger skiers).

Just rediscovered this post. Kent, your old tug now has 199 hours and counting. She's sporting Perfect Pass and will be upgraded to Stargazer this spring. She also got a new acme 422 prop and had the gel coat professionally buffed.

On Saturday, the teak was sanded to bare wood, then resanded with increasing grit up to a wet sand at 1000 grit. Over the next week or so, the platform will be getting around 5 coats of oil. New skins for the rear seat, new silver flake pin striping, and a couple of letters on the side decals are on the menu.

That is the long way of saying we are pleased as can be with our new boat, are taking loving care of it, and to say thank you for taking such good care of her on your watch.

      Sorry for the threadjack.

Thanks, Larry. Not much time until the water warms up (other than Pirkey).

Noticed the shirt--did you ski for Texas?

Also, are you concerned at all that sanding with 1000 grit will make the teak slippery? I considered doing the same thing, but was concerned about traction when the step got wet. Let us know how the sanding works.

Finally, the boat looks great. If you get bored and want to buff out a 206 near Dallas, let me know!

No, I just bought a couple of shirts from them. Our entire family went there at one point or another.

Based on my experience with this method on my platform on my old boat, it is not slick and not oily. I put my ski on standing on the platform, so I'd be pretty concerned if it was slick.

Thanks for the compliments. That picture was actually taken before I took the boat to the glass guy for a top and bottom buffing. Other than minor stuff, I leave that to the pros.
