Zero Off For Older Nautiques

Just noticed that Zero Off will be installed on the 2008 models. Looks like a fantastic product that doesn't require drilling holes in the bottom of my boat! Anyone know when there might be a retrofit for older PCM engines? I checked the web site www.zerogps.com but it wasn't much help. Thanks.

It isn't available for pre-2008 boats yet. No word on when they might come out with a retrofit kit yet, although I have heard that they are working on it.

Thanks. Will you post a note when the kit is available? I'd love to get this installed right away -- have been holding off on Perfect Pass given the complexity of the installation.

I'll be watching for this as well and I'm interested for the same reasons. I hope they are truly working on it and not just toying around with it as just a possibility.

i emailed the guys at zero off yesterday about putting it on a gt-40. they said no retro kits were available yet, but should be next season. i asked earlier next season or later and he said he would talk to the engineers and get back with me. i will let you guys know what he says.

I wonder how long it will take PP to come up with a GPS-based system? I have seen other threads which indicate that they "are working on something". Sounds like they better do it quickly or they are going to lose a lot of market share for speed control. My assumption on why Zero Off is only available on newer models is because of the digital throttle.

I have it on pretty good, second hand, back-dated, unsigned, shadowy authority that Perfect Pass will have a system out early next year that will incorporate a GPS signal into the rpm based system. If I recall correctly, it's supposed work with older boats, i.e., an upgrade to existing DP/WP systems.

If I'm wrong, I'll curse the fact that the edit feature is only temporary. :grin:

It seems like PP could could come up with an upgrade kit fairly easily. All they need to do is replace the paddle wheel input with a GPS input and revise their control software. A GPS antenna/module and a new chip for $500 sounds like a deal to me. Are you listening PP???

There is a major cost in putting ZO on '07 boats...the ECM has to be changed.

My friend is a promo guy down here in Florida. He has both ZO and PP on his boat.He told me 06's require a ECU change, but 07's will run ZO.

That's not entirely true either.

The official word from CC is that Zero Off only works on '08 models right now.
