This thread started as a new dealer in Charlotte, but I figured not as many people would click so I am starting a new one with this heading. People should not miss out on this. My scan is readable after clicking and zooming in. Is there any credible evidence out there to substantiate these strong allegations? What does Correct Craft have to say about such a harsh letter?

RE: Nautique Quality questioned by dealer
Of course they are going to want CC to look bad considering they are the new Mastercraft dealer! What a poor way to drum up business for their new line! I don't know the situation, but it wouldn't be the first time that a dealer has been dropped by CC for whatever reason and the dealer tries to make it look like that they dropped CC!! There are always two sides to a story!

RE: Nautique Quality questioned by dealer
Wow, those are some strong accusations! As we all know, Correct Craft builds a great product and stands behind it. Some of the things written in that letter do not sound like the Correct Craft that I know, and I am not sure that everything in that letter is entirely truthful. Several key points in the letter sound questionable to me. As stated above, are we really sure that they dropped Correct Craft? I would guess that it might be the other way around.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

Jeff,
I just read the letter and yes, several points may be questionable but I believe the letter is correct in some ways. The quality has really taken a turn for the worse. Just look at some of the pictures people post where their seats are WAY off in the positioning. I think CC has gotten really sloppy. I saw it on my 2000 Super and I see it on my 2005 226. I shake my head sometimes and say "You have got to be kidding that you can't see how off this is or how could a worker have let that long of a screw pop through the seat!!!!! My 6 year old has better attention to detail then THAT."
Honestly, reading that letter, I really don't think CC dropped them, I believe what the letter says. Yes, there my be two sides to the story and I'd like to hear more about this case. I really don't think they are trying to make CC look bad, just state the truth.
Who knows, maybe I'm wrong.

I was a little disapointed the other day also when i took what I would call the trash can cover off to get to my heater, and found a screw not even atatached. no hole for it no fiberglass behind it to even attach it to and the screw just hanging on for dear life hoping not to fall out. there should be some kind of temp plate when they are attaching things so it gets in the right place and gets anchorded everywhere. that has not been the only thing I have came across. Don't get me wrong Im still a CC fan and it will take a lot to change that, but if i can go buy a new truck and the fit and finish is that much better for the same amount of money then I think somthing is wrong. I understand that fiberglass and gel coat are not cheap but come on.

my boat mechanic mentioned this about nautique as well mastercraft, bu, and others...
he said said the boats built from 2001-2004 were some of the best constructed boats compared to the latest and greatest...
this seems like a catch 22, the newer models have awesome layouts and amenities(spinner racks, zero off) but arent as well constructed...

I knew of a dealer that started with CC and truly loved their product, but couldn't sell enough of them to meet goals and they asked for help and CC didnt. They decided to take on another line to support their lacking sales and CC decided to just pull from the dealer entirely. It was a shame, as CC is the boat of choice in that area and now everyone is buying BU because that is the convenient option.
Lately I have seen some great improvements in the product, however Clubmyke hits it on the spot... New looks cool but when it comes down to it, they just arent like they used to be.

Well, North Point was an established Nautique dealer. They were bought out by Team Carolina (a Cenurion dealer) It was only a matter of time before they ditched them. We were not satisfied with their (team carolina) inferior and ignorant service starting in 2005. Thats when I startied doing my on maintenance. Since we seem to be calling some serious names here, I can say that I would not do business with Team Carolina now calling itself North Point with a Nautitque N. They are not a business with the customer in mind nor are they interested in delivering a quality product. You can guess the rest. I would really like to hear a rebuttal from correct craft. I love my 04 211, it is a quality boat. And this year JD Power still says Nautique owners are totally satisfied. Please tell me this is just a rougue dealership who never deserved Nautique period, and I can still trust Nautique to supply me a superior product in the future.

Interesting thread ... so is that dealer really going to be that close to the existing MC dealer in NC ... as far as the letter ... I would expect CC to file a lawsuit against the dealer for the contents of the letter ... although it is entertaining to read, it shows a real lack of professionalism on the part of the dealer ... having never owned a CC I can say that I have been a fan for many years.
**who "owns" this website (you the users)?
*** does cc endorse it or support financially?
Just thinking out loud as I am guessing that this is not corporated bandwidth.

so a company takes a stand for its customers and you think thats a bad thing. i think they did the right thing to inform their customers of their reasons for not being a cc dealer. maybe some of you should stop drinking so much c.c kool-aid and take a close look at what he is talking about. the boats are slipping ive seen it over the last 3-4 boat shows. maybe just some changes with the new factory and all it takes to do a move like this. and hopefully it will get back to where it once was but i agree with North Point its not as good as it should be. very intrested to hear what c.c has to say.

To be honest, I can see some of the points that they have brought up in the letter, and yes, CC needs to get back on top of their game in terms of quality control. I love my CC, which is a 2001 Air, but to be honest, I don't think the quality is what it used to be. I'm also not saying that other manufacturers have better quality, but that is what CC is known for and something that the company was built on!2001 Air Nautique
