Is there a right or wrong way to mount a bimini?

I have recently fitted a 3 bow Westland bimini to my '99 Ski Nautique. It came with no instructions but was not too difficult to work out.
The installation did spark some debate about which way round to mount it.
Most pictures I have seen are with the main spar going towards the rear but often you see pictures of boats with the main spar facing forward.
Just wondering if there is a right or a wrong way to fit :???:

The main bow goes towards the back.

I did mount mine with the main bow towards the rear. Just curious why some are the other way especially as the leading and trailing edges of the canvas have different shape profiles.

I also got a Westland and had to do a little modifying to the front bow to get it to fit correctly, then I shortened the rear arm so that it looks and fits great. Only used the straps on the front.
If you don\'t do it today, you will be one day older when you do!!
