    Sport Nautique Prop?

What was the oringinal prop on the tsc 1 sport nautique? What comes on the 216 now? I am looking for some suggestions, for a second prop. It currently has what appears to be a 4 blade oj legend 14 x 16? It appears to be the same prop as the 196. Btw the boat will never have ballast in it, or so that is what I am telling myself.

    Thanks

    RE: Sport Nautique Prop?

My 99 Sport with GT-40 and 1:23 transmission came with a 14x16 OJ. It works just fine even with weight but was pretty sluggish the one time we put 2000 lbs of ballast in the boat and had 5 adults. That's the only time I've ever really wanted a more aggressive prop.

      RE: Sport Nautique Prop?

I think youre right- the stock prop should be a 4-blade OJ Legend, though I would guess 13x16 instead of 14x16.

Without knowing your current performance numbers, I would guess that the best prop for you would be an Acme 470 (12.5x15 3-blade). The Acme 1442 (13.25x15 3-blade) would also be a good choice if you can run it- but I know for sure it wont fit on the TSC1 Ski Nautique due to its larger diameter. If you have a 14x16 on there now, you can probably run the 1442. The Acme 422 (12.5x15.5 4-blade, currently the stock prop on all DD Nautiques) would be my next choice. The OJ XMP 428 should also get some consideration- it should turn performance numbers nearly matching the 422. OJ claims that it will offer a softer pull than the Acme- though I havent skied the OJ yet to confirm this.

        Your right.

It is 13x16. The big block model has the 14x16.

I havent seen one to be sure, but I dont think thats correct. The 90-96 Ski Nautique hull came stock with a 14x16 prop. Starting in '97, this was changed to a 13x16. Some combination of lowering the motor, changing the shaft angle, or shortening the shaft neccessitated the change to the smaller diameter prop. I assume the Sport Nautique followed the same trend, as the hulls were largely patterned after the Ski Nautique.
