Dealer wants to sell me an Eagle trailer for my new 211. He says it's an original off a 226 (that client didn't want) but fits the 211 perfectly. Does this sound right? I never heard of Eagle Trailers.

eagle makes an awesome trailer, love mine. i would doubt that the bunks would perfectly fit your hull though. you can adjust the bow stop, and i am sure you could park the 211 on it, but i know that eagle makes the bunks fit a jig to within a 1/16 of an inch of the hull of the boat, and i am sure the 226 is not exactly the same as the 211. check it out, phone eagle in michigan. their trailers are very well made, it is a question of the bunks fitting. they could be shimmed with some cedar shakes like mounting a prehung door or window though to make it fit. that way there is no cutting or welding.

Have had (2) Eagles, they are well built trailers that tow very well. On my current trailer the dealer talked me out of the crash pad's, major mistake, the roller front stop tears up the pin tape, if the ramp is steep you can only put the boat part way on or the rub rail ends up under the stop. If your boat has a PP paddle wheel make sure it does not end up on the bunks of the trailer. My twin axle has (4) disc brakes and the reverse lockout actuator, all great options if available.

I loved the Eagle trailer I had for my '96 Ski Nautique. I had a much better time loading and unloading compared to the standard Ram-Lin trailers.Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward.
