                Rick, that must be one magic GT40 if it can turn 5200 RPM at 50 MPH at sea level. I've got to throw the flag on that one.

                      Though its possible he has a fast hull (they all pop out of the mold slightly different) and a strong motor, I just dont see it being 5mph faster than a typical TSC1/GT40, so I'll have to agree with M3Fan. If youre relying on the PP for the speed, its probably not accurate. My dad's Excal 196 reads 49 on the PP, but is only capable of 45 on the GPS.

                        In fact Chicago is around 580 feet above sea level, though it is near Lake Michigan level.

                            I will defer on the speed issue as speedo's are notoriously wrong. The WOT though does give me 5200 rpm. at 384 feet, our lake here in San Diego. I'll take my GPS with me next time I'm out.
