220 owners who previosly owned 210 chime in.

Ok Gang, all those who upgraded to the 220 lets here it. I love the wake. Steep and hard on my 01' 210. But I need some more space. Am I going to notice the extra foot and improved storage and how is the ride and wake performance?...honestly

had an 02 san te 210 and now have a 07 220 te. Storage space is doubled. no wedge tanks to take up all the room in the back storage. so many different areas now to put things. I have 11 month old twins and all this summer we put their car seats in the middle of the boat and we still had plenty of room. in the 210 we were elbow to elbow. as for the wake, i consider myself a wake snob and thought that i would never like anything else but the 210 wakes. we dailed the new 220 wake in and i like it better than the 210. we usually have anywhere from 6 to 7 people in the boat with an extra 400 lbs of lead spread out. the 220 is alot more tempermental than the 210's but once you get them dialed they are solid..

We have owned 5 clasic shaped 210's and last year changed to the 220. this year we are going into the new 210. Like waketime said, the 220 is alot more tempermental than the old 210 on set up and must be loaded right. The wake is great when set up. Tell you what the 210 is like next month when it arrives.

I had a 96 super sport for 10 years (same hull as the 210). Thought I would never like a wake better than that. Last year I traided it in for a 220. I prefer the 220 wake hands down. I still have friends with a older 210, so I still get to ride behind it and compare. My friends and I all prefer the 220 wake.

i am not exactly an old 210 owner, but last year i spent nearly all summer on one. at the end of the year, i was going to buy an old 210. after spending an afternoon in a 220, my mind was changed.

wake: i think it is as close as you can come to the steepness of a 210 without the trough. without the stock ballast filled, it still throws a great wake...as good as most boats with the stock ballast filled. add more weight and gets steeper and lippier. you can build it ridiculously large. two caveats: 1) it is sensitive sided to side. we keep a 50 lb lead weight by the drive to shift side to side to solve the problem. 2) it seems to like more speed as you add more weight (just like any other boat, maybe even more so).

surf wake: the best i have seen for a boat that is not 102" wide. for only having a 96" beam, you would expect the pocket to be a little shorter, but it is not.

here are some wake pics. the surf wake is loaded, the boarding wake is not completely loaded: http://www.planetnautique.com/index....ewtopic&t=9573

storage: the 220 is only 11" longer (21'2" vs 22'1"). the difference is that in the 220, they pushed the dash forward (making the bow smaller) and pushed the interior space back (reducing the side of the sundeck). that makes a huge difference in storage. we now carry more in the 220 than the 210 and still have more storage than we can use. all of the nooks and crannies are great for storage, especially the easy to reach trash can in the starboard lean back and the hidden cooler under the port lean back. oh, and the warming tray which makes your wet vest nice and toasty also, cannot go without mention! the boat is also quite a bit deeper.

handling: standard CC handling. even when we are fully loaded, the boat has no probs turning. one super cool thing is that the boat has very little bow rise, so your forward vision is never obstructed.

my overall opinion is that some will like the wake, some will not. it ranks in my top three wakes which include the old 210 and the old school x star (both slammed), you pick the order. where it completely takes the cake is the interior, which, in my opinion is the most versatile and rider friendly by far.

I'm a wake snop also. I love the hardness and steep factor of my and my friends 03 210.

But I keep hearing tempermental regarding weight. How would the 220 compare to other manufacturers, ...and I thought my 210 was tempermental w/ 1600 total ballast.

tempermental only when you are not balanced.. i also keep a 5 gallon gas can filled with lead for a counter weightt.(100 lbs) we just side left or right to dail it in.. if you are not balanced right the wake will keep washing out . it took a couple times out to figure this out. not a big deal at all.. and the speed, we run anywhere from 22.7-24 depending how heavy we are and whos riding.
thats the beauty of the old 210s and 220s, it doesnt take a lot of weight to get great wake out of them.. yeah it might take a little fine tuning but the results are worth it...

agreed on both accounts: it doesnt take ridiculous weight to get a ridiculous wake and once you dial it in, balancing the wake becomes a non issue.
