use a pin punch, some penetrating lube, and a hammer. u may have to give it some pretty hard hits, but they should pop on out eventually

u don't necessarily have to use a pin punch......... just something that is about the same diameter as the pins and is flat of (preferrably concave) on the end.

            help

andrew, were you able to tap out the pins? i'm about to take the eye off so i can put an extended pylon on, and was curious if that is how you got it out, by tapping the pins out of the top?

              RE: help

i put an extender on my older naut. i went to Orchard supply house got a cheap punch kit, punched the pins out, with a big ball ping. The eye did not come right out basicly it broke off with a crowbar...but the extender has a ski eye on it so it was not to much of a big deal to me...but if the eye has been on the original pylon i would recommend lettting the pin holes soke for a little while and dont be impatient like i was.....good luck

Take your time, use penetrating oil, and after you get the pins out, take a pole that fits in the round ski eye, and use it to rotate and pull at the same time.

BTW, when I pulled the eye off of my 78 martinique's pylon 5 years ago, I had to take the pylon out of the boat, mount the pylon temporarily on a bench, and stand on the bench and put all of my 225lbs of muscle into it with a shovel handle in the ski eye. I thinka friend of mine at the time helped out as well.

I nearly gave myself a hernia, but it came out eventually.

                Good luck
