RE: Counter weight on a 196

I have two of the large square kitty litter jugs filled with water. I think they hold 4 or 5 gallons. I put them all the way over along the port side in front of the passenger seat. We usually only use them for tricks when we don't have an observer available. Slalom and jump wakes are okay without them. '04 SN196

I use 90 lbs and place it under the observer seat as close to the side as I can get it. My driver is about 135 and the boat is ballanced nice.

        Same as Mark-S. Works nicely.

Sorry to change the subject, but what have you guys heard about putting weight in the nose? I've heard it is supposed to flatten the wake? I know it is not AWSA approved but has anyone experimented with it?

Doesn't much change the wake. But it does help the boat turn in when setting a skier. (I have 60lbs in the nose of my 196.)
