From other posts I read, it seems that the 330EX is plenty powerful for a 211.
However as I know Myself, we'll want to weight the boat more and more to get a bigger and better wake. On a typical day we will be 3 adults in the boat, plus the rider. Not sure how much weight we'll have to add, but from what I've read, it seems that 250 on each side of the engine plus something in the front (how much?) might do the job.
I want to be sure that I won't regret my engine choice. In this situation, will a ZR6 become neccessary? I don't need the rider to get his arms pulled out from his body on every takeoff, but I sure don't want to have to accelerate for like 30 seconds at each takeoff either.
I'm not too crazy about upgrading to a ZR6, not so much for the cost, but I have the impression that it adds nothing to the resale value of a 211.
For comparison, my friend has a (MC) X-2 2007 with a 350 engine. With three adults and stock ballast, we add two 250lb in the rear and about 500 in the front for best results. We noticed that as you begin to add people, not only does the boat start to struggle on takeoff, but also the wake begins to wash out and doesn't get any bigger. As if there is a maximum weight above which there is no point adding more.
