All 2008 model specs show 100-300lbs less ballast than 2007

Is this a reporting error, or did correct craft actually change ballast capacities?

The 236 is a bigger boat and therfore will take more ballast to sink it. As for the difference in the 07 and 08 capacities I dont know whats going on there.

The 236 and the 230 are exactly the same size, and both will have the same ballast setup I believe.

There is an answer to this question, and once I have the details, I'll post them here.

I think the ballast is less for 2008 in the 210 because of the u shaped front tank but I am not 100% on this. I'm guessing that the same may be for some of the other models.

Yes, I did get an answer on this. I discussed this with the guys down at the factory, and here's what I was told. In earlier days, the ballast tank weights were determined by taking the capacity of the tank and multiplying it by the weight of the water that the tanks were supposed to hold. This is a solid method for determining weight, and is used by lots of different industries as well as by other boating companies.

At some point last year, someone at the factory decided to take a tank that was not mounted in a boat, fill it, and weigh it. It weighed less than the figure that they had come up with. Because of that, all tank sizes were tested using this method, and the new, absolutely correct weights were posted to their website immediately. I am not sure why there was a discrepancy. Maybe the tanks do not hold as much water as they were supposed to, or maybe they cannot be filled all the way for some reason. Either way, Correct Craft did the right thing by changing their published information as soon as they found out about the issue. All weights are correct and verified now.
