    Perfect Pass Pro upgrade options?

I have Perfect Pass Pro. The servo motor cable just broke (the retainer came off the end of the cable, and the cable came out of the barrel - so no throttle) the cable from the servo motor to the throttle. I called Perfect Pro. They will send me a new cable for $39.95 plus shipping. Are parts available for a better price?

There are also some upgrade options, and I could use some help/advice sorting those out.

I asked Perfect Pass if they had the software (chip?) upgrade that I understand will solve the cable slack problem that's common with the older units (mine is from 1999). I have version X 4.01b, and have to occasionally turn the servo knob to tighten it back up. They said the upgrade is no longer available. What they have to sell separately is a new computer module, $200, a paddle wheel, $100-$200 and a new display @ $100-$200. Not sure if I remember the prices exactly, but to do all these was about $500.

I want to weigh the cost/benefit of the various options, if possible. If anyone knows where to get the upgrade chip for the older unit like mine, maybe that's the most cost-effective plan. I'm a slalom skier who sometimes pulls wakeboarders with my '93 Ski Nautique.

RE: Perfect Pass Pro upgrade options?

I think the upgrade you have been offered is the Digital Pro upgrade. Do you currently have the older analogue system?
I went through the same upgrade a couple of years ago ( v6.5) but did not have to change the display unit. The upgrade comes with a new master module, paddle wheel (optional to fit), later software. I think you have been told about the display as the latest 6.5NG uses the multi line display which is different and will also require a display unit swap.
The newer SW versions automatically wind on any loose cable on power on that the older SW did not do. This avoids the need to keep lifting the engine cover to maually wind on the servo knob.
