    SV 211 wake

    New to the forum.

Just curious what the wake is like on a SV 211 as say compared to a 206?
Looking at both and like the idea of being able to have a ski wake and a wakeboard wake and a nice family type boat.
    Anyone have some insight?

    Thanks

    RE: SV 211 wake

the wake on the 211 is far from the 206.

the 211 is a great family boat and awesome for boarding but not the best for skiing.

You might check out a 216 if you want decent ski wake, and boarding wake.

        RE: SV 211 wake

It's been posted many times, do a search for tons of comments on this topic.

I had the chance to demo a 211. I'm coming from a direct-drive Moomba Mobius LS. We now wakeboard 80% and ski 20%. I'm an intermediate wakeboarder and I ski the slalom course at 15 off 30 MPH, working on 32.

The 211 will do a fantastic wakeboard wake just with stock ballast. I read that if you add more, it will kick butt. As far as slalom goes, I found it definitely very skiable at 15 off, but when I tried 22 off, the rooster was brutal. I read that 28 off and shorter is acceptale.

We decided to buy a 211. Perfect for our watersports needs (80%-20%), and the cenvenience of a V-drive was too difficult to pass up. Good luck.

          Thanks for the responses.
I guess maybe I should look at the boat in all around way.
How is the hole shot on these (211, 206, 216) for barefooting deep ups?

          Thanks again for the responses.

Friends of mine have both an SV-211 and the 216, both 2007 models. I've wakeboarded behind both of them. When the stock ballast tanks are full, both of them throw very good wakes for boarding. I was surprised at how good the wake was behind the 216, but the 211 wake is a bit larger and steeper. I am a very mellow rider and only do simple surface tricks. When I ride over the lip and down the wake on the 211, it feels like you are dropping off a hill. The 216 seems to have more of a ramp and is a little more mellow by comparison. Hardcore boarders will prefer the 211, but for me I liked the 216.

I know the V-drives make the best wake board boats, but personally I'm looking for an early 2000s direct drive Air Nautique because I like the way a DD handles, and they are easier to work on and simpler mechanically (no v-drive unit), and still throw a respectable wake. Best advice is to drive and ride behind both (if possible) and see which one you like best.

I've skied on both all summer. I own a 211 and my ski partner owns a 206. 206 has a great slalom wake. The 211 wake is fine if you ski at 36 mph and like a short line. The longer the line and the slower you ski the worse the wake gets. If I skied at 32 and 15 off I'd hate the 211 wake.

I have driven the 211 with the power prop that CC offers and though you lose a little top end it really gets up and goes out of the hole. I would recommend getting it on the 211 if you go that route. As for the 206 and 216 the are excellent out of the hole. Good luck with what ever you decide on.

He's asking about holeshot for barefooting, so one would assume that he'll want the boat to reach barefooting speeds on the top end too. Whats the top speed of a 211 with that prop?

Yes, top end is important too.
                    Great feedback.

Sorry for not being more clear in my earlier response. The top end with the power prop on the 211 is right at 43.5mph with the zero off registering the speed. With the standard team edition prop we saw right at 46mph.
If your not loading the boat up with extra ballast then I think the team prop does just fine.

Took a foot run a few weeks ago behind my 211. Seemed to take a while to get to footing speed. After I finished I looked down and laughed when I noticed the tanks were still full!

If you are a footer and decide the 211 is for you I would highly recommend the ZR6 motor. I am always wanting a couple extra MPH for one-footers.

The 211 wake is very versatile and equally sensitive to wake placement. If you are meticulous and pay close attention to how it responds to weight you should be able to get it to do almost anything. For slalom it will never compare to a 216 or 206.

search the archives, lots has been said on the 211 wake

I have a 211V and relly if your not a pro you can ski perfect on this boat, if you can ski 15 and up at 32 or faster the wake is pretty good and for the wakeboard is good to just with the stock balast,im also footing on it and the boat is pretty them good. also is very Comfortable a and only have the 5.7 L engine the 6.0 L will be good to reach the extra but you may dont need it im in houston if you want we can get together one of this days and we can go to the lake so you can try it

I respectfully disagree. As someone who skis on a 206 and 211 I'd say you need to be at minimum 22-28 off at 34-36 to ski anywhere close to perfect. If you generate any speed at all crossing the wake doing 32 at 15 off, results aren't good.
