Cool. Put the weight under the bow seat to improve the slalom wake? With what length line and how big of a difference does it make for the slalom wake?

      RE: Re: RE: 211 wake

It doesn't turn it into a direct drive... sorry. The slalom wake is still sizable regardless of weight placement. If you ski more than board the 216 is the call. I made my choice on the 211 because I spent most of my slalom career behind 70's vintage Nautiques. The 211 wake is probably a bit better than a 70's vintage Nautique, probably very close to a 2001 wake.

Any line length except 15, 28, or 32off work well. I avoid 22off if I am not in the course.

I'll second what Mike says about the wake and also recommend the 216 if you ski more than you ride. I'm done with the course and wakeboard more now but the wifey skis alot more than she rides, so the 211 is great for us.

So does that leave full length and somthing less than 32 off?

Until Mike's reply, posts here and elsewhere were pretty consistent about 15 and 28 off, and folks have been mentioning a "hole" to be avoided avoiding 22 off. Speed at 32 (or above) was best.

I think I may be a little slow but are you saying it is best not to ski at 15 or 28 and there is a hole at 22 off so that would mean don't try 15,22,28 and maybe not 32. I have not skied behind my 211 yet. I tried one before purchasing mine at 15 off. I thought it was OK. It is not a direct drive but it was close. My previous boat was a 98 Malibu Sunsetter direct drive. It was very nice to ski behind but you had to fill the boat up with fat sacs to surf. We ski for a half an hour a day and surf the rest of the day. I can't wait till spring.

I don't know what Mikeski was trying to say, but prior posts indicated the better slalom wakes at 15 off and 28 off. I read that 22 off was not as good.

22off is not fun, hole/bump/ramp/crater? Call it what you want but when I went out at 34mph/22off the first few times I felt like I was going to go out the front. For some reason I don't notice it as bad when I am focused on the bouys, hence my comment about the course.
