Anyone try grip tape on the bow?

I have a closed bow and need to step up front to moor the boat when it's in the water... Has anyone tried using grip tape to give an area to step on?

A waxed bow and wet feet = disaster! I've nearly fallen a few times and want to do something better for next year. My thought was to lay out grip tape almost like a racing stripe...that way there's added safety and a decent look to!

Interested to see photos if anyone has done this or something similar. Thanks

Not sure the color of your deck (I'm assuming white), but you can find the white texture tape that you can put in the bottom of your bathtub at Home Depot/Lowe's that would work as well.....that way it won't stick out like the typical black grip tape.

I saw a few post of this stuff...anyone put the material on the bow? Interested to see how it looks...their site doesn't have any pictures with the bow.

The boat is a 97 Nautique - black and white...so I think either black or white would look good. The top of the bow is white.

I bought some of the Nautique "sano" pads from Whitelake and put them on the bow (open) of my 94 Sport. These are black step pads that have the "N" raised logo all over them.

I have also used Gator Grip in the past and that is good stuff too.

IIRC...I have seen someone's CB 196 on this site that has the grip tape in the shape of a large Natique logo that really looked like it was meant to be there.

I have blue/white gator grip behind my backseat and on gunnels and love the stuff!

I was at a dealer last week and they had sheets of the same stuff they use for the platforms and steps. It has the "N" in it. I think they had both grey and black.

Gator grip is nice, but I think it would stick out like a sore thumb on the bow, JMO.
