2004 Flight Control Tower Modification - ADvice?

On my 2004 SAN Team Edition - I have the flight control tower with the arc lower half. I am perplexed as to how to increase the hieght of the tower. IT sits so low that when you put the Pro 80's speakers it is impossible to also have a bimini top -- then you hit your head badly!! I thought of having just the tower part remade --- keep the arc that attaches to the gel coat but remake the back part of the tower that is held on by the knobs (it's where it breaks apart). What do you think, any idea's?

Check out Towerbiminis.com's over the tower style biminis. This might give you enough room for both the tower speaks and bimini without having to get a new tower built. As I see it, if you extend the height of your current tower, you will need to make sure you have it built strong enough to handle the extra load of another foot, or more. I think you'll also find that unless you do the work yourself, that you will probably spend almost as much getting one built custom, and then powdercoated to match.
I installed a New Dimension tower on our boat, and I really like how well built it is, and I personally think it's better built than the factory FCT's. I believe they run a special in the offseason, but you will then need to fill holes where the original tower mounted to the deck.
