Hi everyone, I am new here. I am looking into buying a late 80's open bow Martinique. Most of my boating is in rough water which is why I am considering this boat. My first question is does anyone know how good the wake is for recreational wakeboarding and recreational slalom skiing? I know it won't be as good as a dedicated ski boat but I am not looking for that, I am looking for a boat that will be a good towboat as well as a good runabout. I am using a 4 cylinder I/O to ski and wakeboard right now, which is not ideal. So I figure that since it is an inboard it will at least be better than most I/Os, which would be good enough for me. My second question is how hard is it to install a pylon on this boat because some of them don't come with one? Thanks, James.

RE: A Few Martinique Questions
I owned a 1987 Martinique open bow with a 351 240HP PCM for many years and I am very familiar with these boats. It was a EXCELLENT rough water boat. The wake was fine for recreational slalom and wake boarding. The course at 36MPH was possible but a challenge. It could pull two adult male barefooters with 4 or 5 people in the boat with the standard 3 blade prop. Mine had a factory installed pylon which was used regularly. Addition of a pylon should be easy. As I recall it was attached to aluminum framing, which I believe was attached to the engine mount framing, with 2 "U" bolts. Good luck

RE: A Few Martinique Questions
James, if you happen to have any pictures or videos of your Martinique in action lying around I would really apreciate it if I could see them so I could see the wake and to get an idea of how the boat rides. If you have these files and wouldn't mind me seeing them could you please send me a pm and I will give you my email address to send them to. I was also wondering how well this boat handles. Does it turn and accelerate well? Also about how fast is the boat? Thanks a lot, James.
