Will an 02 210 air nautique be a decent crossover boat???

Is there really such a thing as a good crossover boat? The closest thing to a crossover in 02' would be an Air Nautique which is a sport hull. IMHO you have to decide which is most important to you, a small wake or a large wake as most every model will be one side or the other of that equation. The 210 as an example will be a killer WB boat and a very marginal slalom/footing boat. BTW, I believe the 210 is a "Super Air Nautique".

Dreamer - I would test the 211, I had one and think it is an OK skiing boat. The 216 is the best IMO

Between whch towed water sports do you plan to "crossover." It makes a difference in terms of which boat might render the best results. BKH

We will do more wakeboarding than anything. Then tubing for the little one. And the Every other weekend skier. We are trading from a Harris Kayot to a wake boat. At this point I am sure everything will be an improvement.

If you wakeboard any more than 50% of your time go with a 210. You will be happy you did.

Listen to Crad...the 216 is the best all around boat. If you aren't looking for a huge wake the 216 will give you a good wake for WB & soften it enough for skiing. I just happen to have an '02 air for sale if you are interested. :grin: Seriously, I don't think you can go wrong with a 216 unless you are a diehard WB.

The main reason for asking the question was because we have found an 02 super air with only 97 hours on it. It looks brand new, and has everything on it that we want. It will more than likely be used 50% wakeboarding, 40% tuding and 10% sking.

So for 90% of the time, you'll love it. For 10% of the time it won't be optimal. At speeds above 34mph, the waterskiing is ok. Not good, but ok. At speeds below 34, I'd say the waterskiing is not much better than a typical I/O. Still given your requirements, I'd say the 210 would be a very nice boat. BKH

We've been looking at the boat online for a few weeks but have not gone to look at it. Our boat is at a dealer on consignment til mid Dec., so we were waiting to take our boat and try to work out a trade. BUT I just looked online for the 02 210 and it is no longer online. So the search will continue.

I think a d-drive like a 216 or a normal Air is a better boat for tubing (dirty word ;-) then a super air. Although a Super Air is a great handling boat in turns comparing to other v-drives or I/O's, I really think a 216 will out perform the Super Air in handling.
2 Downsides on a 216 imho, the wake for wakeboarding isn't as good as a Super Air and the interior isn't that spacious. For me the 2 most important points for having a Super Air, all other points the 216 wins.

Dreamer - remember it only a deal if it will do all that you want. Based on you psot above, your boat will do 90%. Pretty high % IMO. Any of the hulls 96-08 in the SA ar like skiing behind an IO, fyi.
