Do you guys plan on skiing a course?

From my experience there, that is kind of the wrong end of the lake where you want to be. There is alot of boat traffic down that way.

Any objections to a different part of the lake? Youd be closer to the Cliffs (10-60' cliff jmping), ski course, and the good wakeboarding water. Let me know!!!

Ok guys heres the map of the lake and where the good stuff is. The hotel mentioned above is quite a distance from the hot spots. I would say Bernards Landning(condos) would be a great place to rent from. Let me Know what you all think!!! My buddy knows SML all around and highlighted the good areas...

Can we get the hot spots posted big enough to read? I went up there last spring (but the boat broke so I didn't get out) and I want to make a return trip this year. I would love to know where to go.

On the other note: all the restaurants are around WestLake and the so the motel is a good spot for that convenience.

Bull Run is a public course.... very secluded
Cliffs jumping(legal)... 10'60' cliffs
Where park house boat... usually glass and Deep water 30'+
Gills creek- Popular wakeboarding spot
Crazy Horse Marina- Awesome GIANT maragaritas and great authentic Mexican food
Coopers Slaom course-maybe private i'll have to find out
Bernards Landing- Place to stay LOTS of 1br-2br condos for rent at the near the same price as Westlake

Hope this helps. I just think Westlake is toooooooo far from everything and especially for you slalom guys, you want a place where to can ski the course that isnt 45 min boat ride away

Benards Landing

Ok gang. I talked to Benards Landing today. What a voice the woman had on the phone. He is the deal. They could HOST us and it sounds nice. 2 night Min and rate are 200.00 per night for a 1 bedroom (1 Bed) comes with a dock. I'm going to let that brew in everyones head for a couple days. If we all want to switch here, I'm good. If to many think it's to much in good with Westlake.

I have about 10 people email and will be switching to that next time, so if you haven't PM me, please do.


Medic - saw your post on Norris. I live about 15 mins from the lake. Nice lake. Not sure why Midwest would be coming down there. The local dealer is in Knoxville, so I would think they would be better closer to the dealer. JMO. Also word is NL is not going to be at full pool this year. I talked to ArmyCoreOE at the boat show.

i live at sml and im not associated with either hotel but i think you guys would be much happier at bernards. it would be alot closer to good water and better restruants unless you want to hit bridge water (its really popular with tourist and is probably a 25 min ride from bernards or 20 mins from the westlake inn by boat) We always have our wakeboarding tournaments there and have been very happy with them. Its deffinately more upscale than the west lake motel. Both places are centerally located to westlake (foodlion krogers several restruants)They are a long ways apart by water but only about 10 mins away by land. Another option and my personal favorties is a house boat http://www.parrotcove.com/houseboats/houseboats.htm they sleep alot of ppl if you get one of the large ones. With any luck we'll be there. SML is our favorite vacation spot, we never made any of the CC reunions or PN gatherings. This would be a great first for us. We stayed at Westlake last year. Nice place, great people, but it's a long ride by boat to get to blackwater or gills.

We are currently boat shopping, who knows what we'll end up with. After having 8 Nautiques in 29 years, we find ourselves boatless at the moment.
Like many families, I'm the waterskier and my son and friends are wakeboarders. Neither wants to give in. With a crossover neither side is happy, so it's going to be another 210 or back to a Ski Nautique.

Maybe I need to ask this on another forum, I would like the opinion of waterskiers who are currently skiing behind the new 210 hull. I managed to find a set up on our last super air the I could deal with. Still not great for a waterskier.

You can free ski all day on a 210.. if you want to ski a course thats a different story.

Okay, I was down at the CC factory yesterday, and it sounds like they're interested in helping support this event in a couple of different ways. Crad, I'll be e-mailing you either tonight or tomorrow. Let's see what we can do with this thing. This is looking like it might just end up being a great event!
